Research Topic 2 (Innovation & Technology Assignment 2)

As a continuation of assignment 1, you are required to submit an online essay with illustrations in the form of a Weblog space shared by your classmates. Your assignment will explore case studies of innovative interiors and exhibition spaces with respect to the following choices:

Greg Lynn’s built interior works; Hani Rashid’s built interior works; Toyo Ito’s serpentine pavilion; Rem Koohaas’ serpentine pavilion (discuss min 3 details/materials).

OR

The contemporary interior is seeing more and more of curvaseous forms. Using an appropriate case study, explain some of the innovative detailing behind these luscious forms (discuss min 3 details/materials).

You are to provide 1 sketch for each innovative detail/material discussed (min 3 sketches) to demonstrate your appreciation of the innovations in their designs. The essay should have a minimum of 1500 words written in your own understanding and style. Plagiarism will be penalised. Sources of images and references must be acknowledged.

Guests who are experts in the above areas of research are welcomed to give comments on the essays.
